All courses run at Calcinaia are individually designed according to the requirements of each group of musicians. Below is a brief schedule of a course recently held at Calcinaia.
Day 1
Collection from airport. Arrive in time for lunch or stop for lunch en-
Rehearsals and coaching in the morning.
Lunch, followed by time to relax and/or private practice. Late afternoon chamber
music rehearsal and coaching. In the evening visit a local medieval town to take
in some sights, followed by dinner in a traditional restaurant or pizzeria. Return
to Calcinaia. Free time for impromptu music making, watch TV or have a swim.
Days
3,4 similar format to day 2 with the addition of private individual lessons. Visits
to different sights and restaurants.
Day 5 Similar to day 2 with the addition of an
unaccompanied Bach workshop (all student are required to prepare 2 movements of Bach)
Day
6 Sight-
Day
8 Concert day. Rehearsal and coaching. Dress rehearsal in concert venue followed
by dinner and performance and celebrations.
Day 9 A day in the recording studio (2
hours recording time).
Day 10 Sad farewells, trip to airport and journey home.

If you are an instrumental teacher and you are interested in running your own course in Tuscany, we can make Calcinaia available to you and your students at reasonable cost.
